Batman Begins 17, 18, 19, and 20 (END)

Sketch From Work

Just a quick sketch I did while at work, of the lovely Josefina. She kept moving around, so it was a little hard to get it to look right. I really didn't do her justice, she really is alot prettier than what I got on the page.

3:10 To Yuma

I'm still writing and working through thumbnails for a Western story, so I did a sketch of 3:10 To Yuma. Great western film.

Drawing a cowboy hat takes some getting used to, but there is some great imagery to play around with the Western genre. Still trying to nail down styles and looks of key characters, but I'm sure I'll use that jacket Ben Foster wore in the film. I don't even know if it's period-accurate, but it does look cool.

Just a sketch, that I'll probably finish up and make a complete "piece".

El Zorro

Just a one-page drawing of one of my favorite heroes, who I think is kinda underappreciated. If I got the chance, I'd probably go with the concepts Alex Toth wrote about in the Zorro tpb that collected all his work, which kept it in black and white which I think works great. http://www.amazon.com/Zorro-Alex-Toth/dp/1582400903/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1262998514&sr=8-1

I liked the black and white Guy Williams series run alot more than when they re-did it in bright colors anyways. But, instead of going with a flashy design and adding an array of colors or designs to Zorro's costume, keeping it simple with playing around with the blacks on his design and the lighting on it can be more effective I think. Especially if he's going to go out at day, might as well use the use the heavy shadows created by the sun to make the details on him tougher for people to see.
